Senior Accounting and Financial Systems Analyst

Job Summary
The Senior Accounting and Financial Systems Analyst is key to enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of our financial reporting, accounting systems, and processes. This role focuses on improving system efficiency by leading and participating in ERP enhancements, updates, and integrations and contributing to process improvement and automation initiatives, thereby reducing manual tasks. The analyst will ensure data integrity through detailed analysis and resolution of discrepancies identified during reconciliation processes. Collaboration with department and cross-functional team members is essential for effective data analysis and reporting on findings that support strategic initiatives.
Essential Functions
- Payroll Management: Accurately prepare, process, and reconcile bi-weekly and year-end payroll for Atomic Data and Foundation Technologies, collaborating with Human Resources and the Controller.
- Month-End Close Support: Prepare recurring monthly and adjusting journal entries, along with supporting schedules, as part of the month-end close process.
- Reconciliation Oversight: Manage reconciliation processes for payroll, balance sheets, bank accounts, and credit cards, ensuring accuracy with supporting documentation.
- Cross-Training Participation: Actively engage in departmental cross-training, including secondary responsibilities and separation of duties for key functions.
- Information Requests: Support, research, and resolve information requests from the finance team and other departments with minimal supervision.
- Sales Commission Analysis: Prepare reports and perform analysis of sales commissions.
- Sales & Use Tax Compliance: Review monthly Sales & Use Tax calculations, partnering with the Controller to ensure compliance with applicable state requirements.
- Annual Audit Support: Aid in the preparation of annual audit documentation and provide support as requested.
- Data Research: Research and interpret data to answer accounting and financial inquiries, creating memos to document findings and conclusions for audit support.
- Integration Management: Develop and manage an integration playbook for future acquisitions.
- System Administration: Serve as a liaison between Accounting and IT for time tracking, billing, and financial software, troubleshooting issues to achieve effective solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Experience/Skills/Software:
- 5+ years of experience within an accounting team.
- Expertise in Great Plains Accounting software; Quickbooks knowledge a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Passion for continuous improvement in the accounting function of a dynamic organization.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on deadlines.
- Customer service aptitude, flexibility, and organizational abilities with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills, able to engage effectively with employees at all levels and across business units.
