Lunds & Byerlys is a family-owned grocery retailer with a reputation for quality and exceptional service. We are looking for a dynamic, experienced Senior Accountant to join our accounting/finance team. In this role, you'll be part of our Lund Asset Management Group, contributing to tax planning, compliance, and general accounting efforts while partnering across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant, you will:
- Maintain accurate accounting records for business entities, shareholders, and trusts.
- Collaborate with different business segments to gather, review, and file tax returns.
- Analyze financial data to calculate tax implications and recommend asset classifications.
- Handle the preparation and filing of 1099s, and assist with sales tax compliance.
- Manage estimated tax payments, real estate tax matters, and EIN maintenance.
- Provide support in areas like cash management, payroll, charitable contributions, and bookkeeping.
- Ensure the functionality and compliance of accounting and tax software.
- Oversee business registrations with the Secretary of State's office.
- Conduct regulatory research and address audit matters when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting and corporate tax/accounting, ideally with pass-through entity taxation knowledge.
- Strong knowledge of tax and accounting software.
- Microsoft Office skills: Outlook, Excel, Word.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
- A proactive, positive approach and strong problem-solving abilities.

Day in the Life:
Location: Primarily in an office setting, but flexible on work from home options.
What to Expect: We pride ourselves on providing our stakeholders and business leaders the insights and expert advice to help guide sound business strategy and decisions. You will be responsible for ensuring quality control is in place for real estate accounting, reporting, budgeting, and cash flow and ensuring all accounting and tax software is current and compliant. In addition, you will be responsible for administering all records in a compliant and secure manner.
