Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing accounts receivable, fraud prevention, billing, and collection activities, including handling delinquent accounts, managing finance holds, and maintaining accurate customer records, all while providing exceptional internal and external customer service to help reduce the company’s financial risk.

Duties
- Manage pending customer orders on the Accounting Hold Report, ensuring timely release, hold, or cancellation based on the account status/type, with clear internal/external communication.
- Review and approve customer credit applications in line with company policies and procedures.
- Identify high-risk delinquent accounts and initiate collection efforts based on due dates.
- Keep accurate records of collection activities, write-offs, and related reporting.
- Recommend collection methods (e.g., letters, calls, legal action) based on debt nature.
- Send customer statements or invoices as needed.
- Collaborate with Sales and Customer Service Teams to resolve customer issues, requests, and complaints promptly.
- Stay informed on the Fair Debt Collection Act and other applicable laws for collections.
- Handle tax exemption certificate issues using the Avalara system and manage customer tax exceptions.
- Work closely with the Sales and Customer Service Teams to resolve open order issues.
- Communicate departmental concerns to the Manager and Vice President.
- Research and respond to credit card chargebacks and retrievals promptly.
- Collaborate with customers to develop debt repayment plans.
- Perform additional duties as needed by the department.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable/Credit Rep in an e-commerce environment, or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of accounting/credit principles and procedures.
- Proficient in the use of accounting software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong multitasking skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
