As part of the America’s Zone Sales organization, a Portfolio Development Executive (PFD) must drive the pipeline creation and sales by targeting accounts the products have a fit.
To achieve success, a Portfolio Development Executive will be responsible for driving pipeline through new and existing accounts using defined execution tactics and collaboration with sales and presales. As a trusted partner with direct and indirect sales teams, this role will be 50% customer facing. Due to client-base, candidates must currently reside in the continental United States, and relocation from outside the United States is not an option.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to identify business needs, develop value propositions and contribute to the generation of compelling proposals.
- Ability to lead discovery with customers to qualify opportunities.
- Develop and articulate Trends-Implications-Possibilities-Solutions, build compelling presentations to align with customer needs, and deliver an Executive level thru mid-manager level presentation with ability to run thru demo videos.
- Documented experience of owning and managing discovery phase with clients.
- Leverage Challenger methodology to understand/identify problem areas and challenge customer on status quo.
- Clearly articulate “why Siemens?” in non-technical terms (then if required, at a more technical level).
- Manage and execute tactics using Account based research, social media, Executive outreach etc.
- Collaborate with Industry Portfolio Director and each Country Manager/Sales Leader to drive key business metrics.
- Complete understanding of campaign/initiative value proposition and presentation materials.
- Drive campaign execution with Industry, Marketing and Sales.
- Deliver sales enablement training of collateral as required.
- Coordinate with PreSales to deliver effective, value focused demonstrations.
- Manage execution plan and report weekly progress.
- Support closing process if required.
Ability to build a strategy and roadmap interacting with Senior Manufacturing Executives including C-Suite. Execute selling experience across the Smart Manufacturing Digital Thread.
Proven Manufacturing software sales experience at Siemens or a competitor.
Proven strategy development at an account and industry level – understand the product development and manufacturing challenges in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
Minimum Requirements
NOTE: Applicants must not require employer sponsored work Visa authorization, now or in the future for employment in the USA. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the USA.
- Must have 5 to 10 years of sales or business development experience and strong, proven grasp of industry and technology/solutions.
- Practical experience with Manufacturing Planning, MES, Quality, Scheduling, Plant and Process Simulation and Manufacturing Intelligence software in the Aerospace and Defense industries and environments. Including connection/integration to Design, PLM, ERP and Shop floor technologies.
- Must currently reside in the United States, this is a firm requirement.
- Due to client-base, candidates must currently reside in the continental United States, and relocation from outside the United States is not an option.
- Carried an individual quota and were personally responsible for achieving.
- Ability to articulate end to end Digitalization message to the customer and ability to map in Siemens technology to the customer requirements and vision.
- Demonstrated capability to be the trusted advisor for the client within new or existing customers at various organizational levels.
- Experience working with clients in IoT/IIoT and Industry 4.0 based solutions.
- Experience with cloud-based technologies and deployment on-premise and in the cloud.
- Proven written and presentation development skills required, with strong skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- An understanding of organizational management is critical.
- Must have the ability to multi-task.
- Experience aligning with mid/upper-level management and technical users.
- Collaborate and drive results with diverse teams across multiple internal and external organizations.
- Formal and informal networking across company.
- Approximately 50% travel.
- *BA/BS degree required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Multi solution and multi-industry experience a plus.
- MBA Preferred.
- 6 Sigma Black Belt and LEAN manufacturing expertise.
- Lead or actively involved in digital transformation and large systems implementation (e.g. PLM, MES).

The total cash compensation range for this position is $135,700 to $271,400 with 30% (+/- 10%) of this being comprised of an annual incentive target. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location as well as additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
