Tax Partner
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Tax Partner to join our team in Los Angeles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Extreme technical competency in individual, corporate, real estate partnership, and fiduciary taxation.
- Familiarity with California-specific and multi-state tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Review tax returns prepared by staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance; undertake preparation of complex returns when required.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge using tools such as Lacerte tax software and BNA Tax Projection software.
- Participate actively in client management and retention strategies, contributing to business growth through exceptional client service and engagement.
- Demonstrate leadership by training and mentoring junior staff, encouraging continual professional development within the team.
- Commitment to firm and client service excellence with the ability to expand services to meet client needs effectively.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Current active CPA license.
- Minimum of 10 years experience in tax policy, preparation, and consulting with a focus on real estate limited partnerships, fiduciary responsibilities, C and S corps, and individual high-net-worth taxation.
- Proven track record in a leadership capacity within a tax service environment.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, adept at fostering relationships with clients and colleagues across all levels of the organization.
- Committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethics and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Taxation or JD preferred.
- Extensive experience with tax software such as BNA or Lacerte.
- Previous experience in a top-tier CPA firm or as a Tax Director/VP in a corporate setting.
- Aptitude for business development and client base expansion without prior sales experience.
- Familiarity with managing and directing complex tax research projects.
- Capacity to contribute to firm's financial goals through effective team and resource management.
