AppleOne is seeking an experienced remodeling/renovation Estimator for their growing team in North San Diego! An ideal candidate may have 7-10 years of general construction experience and 1-2 years of estimating with an interest in becoming an estimator, or we are looking for an experienced estimator.

Duties & Scope:
- Team-First Leadership: Prioritize a collaborative and supportive team environment.
- Marketing: Attend CAI meetings, develop rapport with key decision makers within HOA Industry.
- Software: BuilderTrend, Procore.
- Estimating: Develop accurate and timely construction estimates, analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications, handle approximately 50-60% phone communication with subcontractors and vendors, build relationships with local subcontractors and HOAs, work efficiently under deadline pressures, support change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates for ongoing projects, generate and communicate company standards for estimating design/build and plans and specs work, perform job handoffs from estimating to operations with detailed scopes of work, specifications, and job-specific conditions, determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications, perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative, draft scope letters, proposals, and vendor solicitations, attend job walks, pre-bid meetings, collaborations, and conferences with clients and design professionals, present projects for review via zoom, PowerPoint, or in person.
- Contractual Expertise: Deal with owners and contractors to resolve technical and/or value engineering matters during negotiation and contract execution, analyze contractual documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and scope changes.
- Project Evaluation: Prepare complete itemized estimates for negotiated opportunities, review bid opportunities and provide go/no-go decisions, assess bid opportunity documents to identify critical trades requiring market bids.
- Procedure Development: Assist with the development of estimating procedures and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Outstanding knowledge of overall CSI divisions and bidding scenarios.
- Deep knowledge of reconstruction materials and methods.
- Deep knowledge of waterproofing materials and methods.
- Strong management, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to perform complex estimating activities typical to the engineering and construction industry.
- Proficient in working with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Capability to break down any construction project into individual components and scopes.
- Team-first mindset, a good team player, self-motivated, with an ownership mentality.
