This position serves as the staff specialist to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) regarding travel regulations/procedures based on the uniqueness of each agency as well as in accordance with Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) and federal rules and regulations. This position also has accounting responsibilities working with MDOT Accounting Services Division (ASD), MDARD, Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR), and Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). This position serves as a liaison to agency staff and vendors receiving 1099 payments.

Education
Possession of a bachelor's degree with at least 24 semester (36 term) credits in accounting.
Experience
Four years of professional experience performing or auditing the systematic classification and evaluation of accounting data and the preparation of related financial and managerial reports equivalent to an Accountant, Auditor, or Assistant Auditor General including two years equivalent to an Accountant P11, Auditor P11, or Assistant Auditor General P11 or one year equivalent to an Accountant 12, Auditor 12, or Assistant Auditor General 12.
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant certificate (CPA) may be substituted for one year of Accountant P11 experience.
Possession of a Certified Management Accountant certification (CMA) may be substituted for six months of Accountant P11 experience.
