POSITION DUTIES -Join the Bureau of Elections to build transparency and integrity in state campaigns for office. This senior level analyst is responsible for the most complex duties of the enforcement and administration of the Michigan Campaign Finance Act (MCFA), Legal Defense Fund Act, and Michigan Election Law.
This position will evaluate candidates’ campaign finance reports to maintain compliance with state law, including candidates running for the Legislative and Executive Branches of Michigan. This position is responsible for reviewing the most complex, state-wide elections, proposing revisions to workflows, writing procedural manuals and other publications, writing analysis to proposed legislation and conducting seminars for candidates and campaign treasurers. This position also evaluates and administers the gubernatorial public funding program including working with the Department of Treasury to disburse funds.
This position will be responsible for the ongoing implementation of the Campaign Finance and Lobby Registration Electronic Filing programs and with the administration of the Bureau website including creating, posting and editing content. At the senior level, the more complex duties include certifying electronic filing/reporting software, developing test scripts and testing software, and assisting with the design and implementation of new electronic filing/reporting software.
APPOINTMENT TYPE/BENEFITS -This position is Full-Time. Therefore, you would be eligible to participate in the benefits offered by the state. This position has the potential to work a hybrid/remote work schedule.
EducationPossession of a bachelor's degree in any major.
ExperienceThree years of professional experience, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced (P11) level in state service. Educational level typically acquired through completion of high school and the equivalent of at least two years of full-time active-duty experience at or above the E-6 level in the uniformed services may be substituted for the education requirement.
