Job Description Summary: We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join PayPal’s Transaction Margin Team. In this position, you will be responsible for the day-to-day corporate accounting operations and financial reporting activities. This role requires an understanding of US GAAP principles, accounting operations, regulatory reporting and internal controls.
Job Description:
In your day-to-day role you will:
Plan, perform and review monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, flux analysis and analytical reviews.
Monitor, analyze and review worldwide Transaction margin activities for PayPal and its subsidiaries to ensure reported results are complete and accurate.
Prepare and present reporting packages and presentations that include financial statement results fluctuation analysis distributed to members of Senior Management.
Maintain and update accounting policies, process documentation, and procedures related to Transaction margin as needed.
Partner with finance, operations, and product teams to understand transaction flows, new product implementations, ensuring alignment in financial reporting.
Identify opportunities and champion process improvement efforts to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the Transaction margin process.
Ensure that all processes adhere to SOX compliance standards and that strong internal controls are in place and followed.
Assist with internal and external audits by preparing and providing required documentation and explanations on a timely basis.
Act as a representative of the Transaction Margin Team and proactively engage with a cross-functional stakeholder team for global reporting across key stakeholders within Finance.
Support the Finance team in a variety of ad hoc projects and tasks.
What do you need to bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, CPA designation or equivalent.
5+ years of relevant accounting and finance experiences; “Big 4” public accounting experience preferred.
Proficient in US GAAP and relevant accounting and financial reporting matters.
Accustomed to working autonomously.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Detail oriented, customer-focused, and have a reputation for getting things done.
Comfortable working with diverse teams in multiple locations.
SAP General Ledger system knowledge and expertise in Excel and PowerPoint an advantage.
