This position serves as a key member of the Global Operations and Supply Chain (GOSC) Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Center of Excellence (COE) team. This role will be responsible for driving the financial planning, forecasting, analysis and reporting of financial performance in the assigned areas of responsibility, which includes Global GOSC IT program and project support, burden (manufacturing site incurred expenses), and other areas as prioritized. As a member of the GOSC FP&A team, you will work closely with both your key business partners and a broad group of FP&A colleagues across GOSC Finance.
This role is critical to deliver on the financial commitments, and continuously drive improvements, standardization, and efficiencies within our FP&A processes. The successful candidate will partner within GOSC to report, analyze, forecast, and articulate our GOSC financial performance.
This position will be a hybrid role in Minneapolis, MN.
A Day in the Life
- Business partnering: Work closely with business partners to develop the annual operating plan (AOP) and recurring forecasts. Analyze, understand, and report financial performance. Assist in developing solutions to issues that are raised in planning and in results. Play a key role in the long-term financial planning and execution of their strategies. Provide analysis to support data driven decisions.
- Cost Center Support: Plan headcount and OPEX for functional business partner cost centers. Maintain cost center structure, monitor results, and ensure appropriate accounting at period end.
- Capital expenditures: Manage functional capital spend against plan and assist in evaluation of priorities against the targeted spend.
- Management reporting: Support the preparation and presentation of GOSC analysis, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial performance commentary, and forecasting to various levels of management.
- Process Improvement: Play a role in process improvement initiatives as determined by the team and business partners.
- Ad hoc analysis and projects: Support evolving initiatives in alignment with GOSC priorities and to provide enhanced understanding of financial performance, research anomalies and build processes.
Must Haves
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 4+ years relevant experience (2+ years with an Advanced degree)
- Strong financial analysis and accounting skills
- Fluent in English
Nice to Haves
- Effective communication and excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills for creating actionable insights and analysis
- Global experience, working in large, complex, matrix organizations
- Experience with Medtronic financial systems: SAP, Essbase/Hyperion
- Experience with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Is a team player in a matrix structure with strong communication and presentation skills

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive plan.
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
