About this opportunity:
Cenovus Energy is seeking a dedicated Senior Financial Analyst to join our team in Dublin, Ohio. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, you will play a crucial role in preparing and delivering financial stewardship and performance management reports for both internal and external partners. Connect results to the economic P&L and external financial documents. Collaborate closely with the front office on accounting and finance functions for the US Refined Products and RINS business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Accounting and Reporting: Handle end-to-end book-level accounting and reporting for TSL/Marketing back office trade books, including preparing and posting all relevant accounting entries.
- Financial Reporting: Build reports on financial and performance management for various collaborators, providing valuable insights that link the economic P&L to financial outcomes. Identify discrepancies and significant factors that require attention.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Contribute to long-term planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts for the trade books.
- Monthly Balancing and Reconciliation: Conduct monthly transportation and inventory balancing, netback calculations, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations of key balance sheet accounts.
Who you are:
- 8+ years of related experience in accounting, business/financial analysis
- Preferred: CPA designation
- Advanced Excel & SAP skills
- Experience in oil and gas marketing/trading
