POSITION HIGHLIGHTS
- Full-time, benefits-eligible
- Hybrid: 4 days in office, 1 day remote
- Monday - Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm, Friday 7:30am - 3:00pm
- Compensation is a combination of base salary + incentive
SUMMARY
Responsible for outside sales, supporting the national expansion of Sequent Planning, a registered investment advisor; including support for the Agency's Investment Advisory Representatives (IARs); and partnerships with independent insurance agents and agencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for outside sales, which includes regularly meeting with clients and customers offsite (away from home office).
- Investment Advisory Representative Support: Support the IARs by creating financial plans utilizing the four software modules offered by Sequent: Total Social Security/Tax Clarity/Income ArchiTech/SmartRisk. Further supporting the IARs regarding research, questions and answers, and recommendations for investment strategies including the Sequent SmartRisk portfolios. Support to include: FactFinding with the end clients to determine their expenses, income, insurance coverage, financial objectives, tax status, risk tolerance, or other information needed to develop a financial plan; Answering client questions about financial plans and strategies and giving financial advice; Advising strategies for clients in investment planning, cash management, and insurance coverage (if applicable), and any other areas to help them reach financial objectives.
- Reviewing client accounts and plans on a regular basis to understand if life or economic changes, situational concerns, or financial performance necessitate changes in their plan; Analyzing financial data received from clients to develop strategies for meeting clients' financial goals; Preparing or interpreting financial document summaries, investment performance reports and income projections for clients; Implementing financial plans or referring clients to professionals who can help them; Managing and updating client portfolios; and Contacting clients regularly to discover changes in their financial status.
- Partnership Support: Supporting the partner's business objective to either a) become or add a Sequent IAR to their existing business model or b) enter a referral arrangement and provide the full-range of IAR services (refer to IAR Support above) to that client base from the Home Office, which will include business trips to meet clients in person.
- IAR Care/Business Management: Act as a main point of contact and deal effectively with queries from IARs and other parties through effective communication; Manage and resolve IAR service issues; Establish and build strong relationships with IARs and attend client meetings with IAR if required; Assist with training needs of the IARs.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree required in Business or Finance preferred
- Two (2) or more years in financial services industry or related field experience
- Series 65 (FINRA Series 6/7 + Series 66) or CFP (Charter Financial Planner) required
- Series 65 (FINRA Series 6/7 + Series 66) within 90 days
- Life & Health License a plus
SKILLS
- Working knowledge of financial planning/advisory services and insurance services industries.

- Knowledge of the securities industry, financial planning and investment management.
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles and procedures.

- Skill in communicating workflow spikes and seeking assistance when necessary.
