Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Frisco, TX (hybrid)
Position SummaryThe Senior Accountant in the North America (“NAMER”) Controllership team is responsible to assist with closing the general ledger for entities based in our North America region. This will include working with various stakeholders (both internal and outsourced) to achieve timely and accurate results and utilizing strong technical accounting skills to ensure that transactions are appropriately accounted for in accordance with U.S. GAAP. The other core responsibility is performing and reviewing in depth account reconciliations.
Key Areas of Responsibility:- Preparation of general journal entries in accordance with company standard.
- Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts.
- Instrumental in monthly financial statement close process.
- Perform monthly Income Statement account fluctuation review and prepare written variance explanations.
- Preparation and posting of cash transactions resulting from daily bank account reconciliations.
- Respond to internal audit, SOX audit and external audit requests.
- Drive change regarding the implementation of automated systems and the streamlining of existing processes.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
Overtime is required during busy month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close periods. Monthly close cycle lasts approximately 6 to 8 business days and will include quarterly weekend work.
Basic Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other related business discipline
- 3+ years prior work experience in corporate general or Senior accounting
- Prior month-end full cycle accounting close experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Systems aptitude with strong Microsoft Office 365 and Excel skills
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:- Bank & Cash account reconciliation experience
- Licensed CPA or CPA Candidate
- Access, SQL/MySQL, or other relational DB skills
- Hyperion HFM / Essbase or similar applications
- Blackline Transaction Matching & Account Reconciliation Modules
- Experience with Oracle ERP (On-prem and Cloud) or business reporting applications
