Senior Accountant
Irving, TX -Hybrid (3 Days Onsite/Week)
One of Vaco’s tech clients is looking to onboard a Senior Accountant to assist with some of their more complex GL accounting, acquisitions integrations, and their ongoing system upgrade.
Candidates must be Excel gurus comfortable using advanced formulas to sift through large amounts of data and spreadsheets. A strong "nice to have" is someone with previous experience working with internal executives and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Setup automatic entries and book manual entries in line with US GAAP
- Perform all actions needed to close monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position
- Support Accounts Payables and ensure accurate and timely entry into the accounting system and payment
- Ensure inventory is properly captured and allocated
- Support most aspects of accounting management (billing, tax forms, reporting, etc.)
- Assist in the formulation of internal controls
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements
- Manage journal entries, vendor invoices, and reconcile balance sheet accounts for monthly or annual closing
- Assist in income statement account variance explanation compared to prior month and forecast
- Assist in the preparation of the annual audit
- Assist in monthly cash projection and Capex reconciliation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
- Active CPA or CPA eligible strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive, relevant experience.
- Intermediate MS Excel background.
- Experience working with various systems, including but not limited to Dynamics 365, SAP, Concur and/or Blackline.
- In-depth knowledge of Accounting theory and application of U.S. GAAP.
- Experience with financial reporting and financial statement preparation.
- General ledger and related reconciliation experience.
