Tax Senior - R&D
We are seeking a Tax Senior for our R&D division, a role providing crucial support in our tax credit services along with varied tax-related assignments. In this position, you will work with a dynamic team, engaging in rigorous tax planning, compliance, and consulting services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects while managing within budget and time constraints.
- Provide R&D Tax Credit services including tax form preparation and review, tax research, and preparation of technical memorandums.
- Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities in a timely and professional manner.
- Prepare and review R&D tax credit calculations; engage in client communications including conducting technical interviews.
- Support in planning, consulting, and compliance services; develop and supervise junior staff.
- Assist in client management and practice development activities to build and maintain relationships.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- 2 to 4 years of proven work experience in public accounting or at a R&D tax credit consultancy.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a master’s degree in accounting.
- Actively working towards obtaining a CPA license by passing the state CPA exam.
- Experience with multistate credits and incentives, particularly Research and Development tax credits.
- Foundational knowledge in US GAAP, general accounting principles, tax compliance for entity and individual returns, and tax research.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a client-facing role within a financial services firm.
- Proficiency with tax software and technology resources.
- Currently holding a valid and active CPA license.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lead projects and motivate teams.
- Strong organizational skills, capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
