High School diploma or its equivalent is required.
Preferences:
- Four (4) years of professional payroll, or accounting and auditing experience or a bachelor’s degree which may substitute.
- Payroll and accounting experience.
- Analyzing payroll related reports.
- Compiling and analyzing fiscal data.
- Two (2) or more years performing accounting/payroll related duties.
- Experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite specifically Excel.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to analyze information and recommend solutions or actions for consideration based on that analysis.
- Ability to prepare written documentation in preparation of or as a result of meetings, research, discussion.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to management analysis activities.
- Organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
- Conduct fact-finding research.
- Utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Work independently.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Analyze, improve, maintain management capabilities and operational procedures related to the employee payroll record.
- Assist agencies processing salary overpayment refunds, online and manually, and auditing salary overpayments submitted to collection vendors.
- Assist state agencies and the Bureau of State Payrolls with adjusting payroll records to ensure files are accurate for W-2 production.
- Research problems presented by operations personnel and agencies.
- Serve as coordinator for the Consolidated Vendor website including assisting vendors with obtaining access and resolving problems.
- Review access to Payroll, Consolidated Miscellaneous Deduction Vendor and Tuition Waiver systems, and assist with access problems.
- Assist with testing payroll system changes.
