We are currently searching for an Investment Analyst to join our team. The Investment Analyst supports and initiates effective selection of publicly-traded and privately-held investments. They provide key data and reports for accurate financial statement reporting; ensure accurate compliance reporting and analysis; aid in completing audit requests and A.M. Best reporting; and support Investment Accounting reporting and/or the preparation of asset and economic data in cash flow forecasting.

We are looking for someone to:
- Analyze capital markets and assess risk and reward, on a daily basis, to help identify appropriate security purchases or sales for the internally managed investment portfolio.
- Support the investment acquisition process through brokers and electronic platforms.
- Evaluate portfolio holdings for regulatory and statutory compliance.
- Prepare data for internal and external customers, through the use of a variety of software packages, including State Street Global Exchange’s Investment Accounting systems (PFI), BondEdge, and Bloomberg.
- Help prepare and reconcile internal and external financial records; investigate discrepancies with the financial statement reports.
- Collect and prepare data to assist in the audit process of the investment portfolio.
- Collect and prepare data for internal cash flow forecasts.
- Demonstrate commitment to the position as a career rather than a job.

- Utilize strong analytical skills necessary to critique and interpret complex data.
- Be a self-starter, able to function at maximum productivity on a consistent basis with little oversight.

Minimum Technical Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in business or finance and 1+ years’ experience in fixed income and/or statutory financial statements.
- Understanding of Asset-Liability Management.
- CFA charter designation, or progress towards that designation.
- Proficient use of MS Office (Excel, Word, Access).
- Knowledgeable about software systems such as PAM for Investments, BondEdge, Bloomberg and various online VPNs.
- Ability to work hours needed to achieve business results, including early mornings to ensure trades are completed timely, being available to perform business resumption tests, and working days in which the market is open and WoodmenLife is closed.
