Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to support our Tax Director in managing the tax service line. This role requires 3-5 years of relevant experience in a public accounting firm and offers the potential for growth into a Tax Director position. You will be responsible for managing client relationships, ensuring the timely delivery of tax products, and monthly financial work. Experience with CCH ProSystems Access and CaseWare software is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Strategy:
- Work closely with the Tax Director to manage the tax service line effectively.
- Contribute to the establishment and achievement of departmental goals aligned with the firm’s objectives.
- Client Management:
- Manage client relationships, ensuring that final annual tax products and monthly financial reports are produced and delivered within expected timelines.
- Prepare and review business and individual tax returns.
- Build and strengthen client relationships by demonstrating a deep understanding of their businesses.
- Meet with clients and provide tax and financial recommendations based on their needs.
- Operations:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and firm policies.
- Support operational aspects of the tax service line, including pricing, billing, and workflow management.
- Continuously seek process improvements for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness.
- Staff Development:
- Mentor and support junior tax staff.
- Contribute to recruiting and retaining top talent within the tax team.
- Business Development:
- Assist in identifying new business opportunities and contributing to the expansion of the tax service line.
What Experience and Skills Do I Need to Be Successful?
- 3+ years in a similar role within a public accounting firm. We would consider an experienced Senior Accountant looking to jump into a Manager role.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting highly desired or equivalent work experience.
- CPA certification highly desired, or the ability to attain.
- Proficiency with CCH ProSystems Access and CaseWare is preferred.

Compensation & Metrics:
- Salary: $95,000 - $130,000 DOE
- Bonus eligible based on profitability of service.
