JOB SUMMARY: This is a Tax Auditor II position in the General Tax Administration Program, Refunds and Revenue Accounting Process. The incumbent independently performs moderately complex refund audits of taxpayers conducting business in Florida. The incumbent also examines, analyzes, or interprets accounting records or investigates financial information for the purposes of giving advice or preparing statements or reports to ensure correct processing of refund claims by the Department.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- One year of experience auditing at a paraprofessional level.
- Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- An Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with at least one accounting course can substitute for the required experience auditing at a paraprofessional level.
PREFERENCES:
- Experience math auditing tax returns.
- Experience reviewing account balance, registration, or social data in the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
- Experience registering or obligating taxpayers for filing state taxes in the System for Unified Taxation (SUNTAX).
- Experience auditing taxes administered by the General Tax Administration Program.
SALARY: The hiring salary for this position generally will not exceed $4,144.78 monthly/$49,737.36 annually.
