Claire Trevor School of the Arts is UCI's center for innovative, creative engagement in art in all of its facets: production, critique, appreciation, and development. The School's work focuses on creativity—but not just on creativity: our mission integrates all levels of education (from B.A. and B.F.A. to M.F.A. to Ph.D.) with arts advocacy and leadership, engagement with social and cultural issues, and partnerships with individuals and organizations locally, nationally, and internationally.
Your Role on the Team
The Dance Department in the Claire Trevor School of the Arts at UC Irvine seeks a highly motivated, effective communicator with strong administrative skills and attention to detail to provide analytic support and exceptional customer service. Under the direction from the Department Manager in the Department of Dance, the Department Analyst is responsible for financial and administrative operations, graduate and undergraduate student programs, student affairs including electronic Schedule of Classes and facilities, and space and event management. They also serve as main/initial department contact for faculty, staff and students, as well as the back up for the Department Manager.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $31.72- $36.30 (Hourly).
Required:
- Proficient in full-cycle purchasing processes, including purchasing, reimbursements and reconciliation.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial analysis, planning, and administration of allocated budgets, with knowledge of accepted accounting practices.
- Familiarity with IBM-PC and related software: Word, Access, Excel, Eudora, Sinet, AISI, Windows.
- Proven organizational skills to effectively prioritize workload and meet deadlines amidst multiple concurrent projects and stakeholders with limited resources.
- Ability to analyze and structure complex information, delivering clear, comprehensive reports based on the detailed analysis.
- Extensive experience in crafting articulate written and oral communications, including correspondence, administrative reports, policy guidelines and procedures.
- Skilled in supervising student employees, including workflow organization, delegation, and training.
- Strong oral communication skills, adept at effective and diplomatic articulation.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Exceptional ability to collaborate harmoniously with diverse population groups, both large and small.
- Capable of assuming full administration responsibilities for the department in the absence of the MSO.
- Knowledge of University graduate and undergraduate recruitment procedures, admission requirements, and UC policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Arts Management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of experience in department administration, analysis and reporting.
