The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for supporting all facets of loan origination/closing, ongoing loan servicing, and growth efforts of the loan portfolio. This role will work directly with Relationship Managers and across multiple teams within the Association including Credit, Operations, Finance, Loan Accounting, Legal, Syndications and Sr. Leadership. Serve as the primary contact point for time sensitive information and supports the execution of the business and marketing plans for the Corporate Business Development teams by providing technical resources to the team, freeing up the Relationship Managers to spend more time pursuing new business opportunities. The Corporate Business Development teams work with corporate food companies, agribusinesses, agricultural production and processing companies, rural utilities and ag producers on a regional and national level. This role may be assigned a small portfolio of loans to manage.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Primary back up for Relationship Managers, with the following responsibilities:
- Draft legal document review
- Entering servicing requests into nCino
- Attend Dial in lender calls
- Obtaining pricing approvals
- Entering borrower entity information into nCino
- Preparing and submitting patronage approvals
- Organize and prepare for CX meetings
- Attend customer meetings when needed
- Manage System Lead responsibilities and act as primary contact where the Association is the System Lead. Coordinate, monitor and communicate System Hold position, headroom availability, PD/LGDs, and eligibility determinations for the System.
- Assist with ongoing sales of existing or partner products and drive utilization on how to best use products.
- Responsible for sales responsibilities related to onboarding new customers, like preparing Investment Committee requests, Eligibility Opinions and Territorial Concurrence notifications.
- Coordinate with Leaders, Underwriters and Account Managers in the implementation and utilization of the Corporate Benchmarking initiative.
- Service a portfolio of non-active and low touch accounts.
Education Requirements
- Minimum 4 year Bachelors Degree in Business or agriculture economics with an emphasis on finance, accounting, or management
Years of Experience
- 4+ years of experience in Commercial or agribusiness credit / lending experience. Preferred experience should include exposure to syndicated/participated loans or related activities with large and complex loans
