SPECIAL NOTES:
High School diploma or the equivalent is required.
Additional requirements:
- Four (4) years of accounting experience. (A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other business major may be used as an alternative for the required experience.)
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration.
- Two (2) years or more of investment accounting experience.
- Two (2) years or more experience with auditing or creating financial statements.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

Interview will consist of: Oral interview questions and work samples. Work samples will be answered using Microsoft 2007 Word and Excel.
The hiring range for this position is $47,000.00 - $50,000.00.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures. Ability to organize data into a logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials. Knowledge of methods of data collection. Ability to prepare financial statements and reports. Ability to prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records. Ability to analyze and interpret accounting data. Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to an accounting program. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to independently analyze and use problem-solving techniques. Ability to work independently. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team structure. Knowledge of and ability to use Word and Excel applications.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
- Daily processing of the Trust Fund and SPIA balances and Treasury Investment tickets.
- Administer the Competitive Selection Program (CSP) for the Treasury using the Certificate of Deposit system.
- As a member of the Investments Reconciliation Team, perform daily transaction/position reconciliations and support the preparation of monthly investment reports.
- Perform other tasks as directed within the Operations Section.
