Overview
A Business Analyst is a vital role within our organization, serving as the bridge between our business objectives and technological capabilities. This professional will work closely with various stakeholders, including project sponsors, end users, and IT teams, to identify, analyze, and validate business needs and requirements.
Qualifications
What You’ll Need
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of solid business/systems analysis experience and software development projects is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, required.
- Experience working with Microsoft DevOps is highly desired.
- Knowledge of Rules 60GG-1 – 60GG-5, Florida Administrative Code, is highly desired.
- Experience with data migration is highly desired.
- Knowledge of change and release management is highly desired.
- Knowledge of testing and quality assurance tools and techniques.
Job Duties
- Research and understand business processes and their inter-relationships.
- Research and document impacts on agency business systems in relation to the PALM implementation.
- Facilitate joint analysis workshops with the business units.
- Gather and document business and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with data migration and development teams.
- Create detailed use cases, business rules, and requirements.
- Develop Test Plans and Test Cases.
- Coordinate testing and quality assurance efforts.
- Perform oversight reviews of deliverables for compliance with department standards.
What Will Make You Standout
- Business Analysis: Ability to perform detailed research, business analysis, as-is and to-be analysis, process modeling. Use of software tools is required and includes, but is not limited to, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Visio. Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is highly desired.
- System Analysis & Design: Ability to perform System Analysis & Design using a variety of modeling methodologies and techniques.
- Facilitation: Ability to expertly facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders. Technical Understanding: Technical knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure and software development practices and techniques.
- Project Management: Knowledge of State of Florida Project Management Rule 60GG-1. Ability to apply principles and techniques in the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
Additional Skills
- Advanced skills with Microsoft products: SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, and Project.
- Ability to relate to stakeholders’ needs, document their requirements, and perform duties in the absence of staff.
- Ability to receive and give constructive criticism and maintain effective work relationships with others.
- Ability to adjust to changing demands in a dynamic environment with diverse work assignments.
