Role Overview
A Private Wealth Analyst is a client relationship management and financial planning analysis position in DJM Financial. They are responsible for managing existing client relationships, either working on their own or with a more experienced advisor when needed, in addition to supporting the financial planning process for the firm’s advisors. Responsible for formulating and implementing advice but may also rely on technical specialists to develop recommendations within an individual area of expertise. Responsible for data gathering, modeling, case design, scenario building, plan development, presentation development, etc.
Primary Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management and Retention
- Co-manage with a partner advisor a book of 50 segmented firm clients with a 97%+ retention rate through the implementation of financial planning, investment management and risk-based strategies in alignment with the planning philosophies of the firm. May rely on technical experts within the firm to help develop planning recommendations.
- Attend approximately 3+ client meetings per week with primary advisor.
- Ensuring investment and insurance compliance requirements are implemented and followed.
- Handling inbound email and phone communications from clients which may include responding directly or delegating to the appropriate department.
Client Meeting Preparation
- Processing factfinder case notes, assisting with gathering prospect/client financial information (budget, investment statements, etc.), and preparing the financial plan and recommendations appropriate for the client.
- Oversee the design, building, and implementation of all financial plans, ensuring efficient, accurate and timely execution.
- Preparing investment advisory annual review information.
- Preparing and modifying financial plans and investment/advisory proposals.
- Preparing investment policy statement, needs-based analysis or financial plan.
- Running performance reports in appropriate investment platforms (Envestnet, Morningstar, etc).
Case Management & Client Onboarding
- Processing planning case notes, and generating opportunity (case), next activity, and appropriate tasks for DJM team members.
- Serving as the primary point-of-contact for clients that are onboarding and coordinating with insurance and investment departments on next steps and action items.
- Maintaining Opportunities dashboard to ensure all have appropriate follow-ups (phone call, task, etc.) and are moving through the implementation cycle efficiently.
- Monitoring and following up on asset transfers and on initial and subsequent funding of investment advisory accounts.
- Identify opportunities to improve the firm’s planning management and operations in order to enhance productivity, scale for growth, and ensure a strong client experience; implement or oversee the implementation of these improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Financial planning credential preferred (CFP, CPWA, ChFC, etc), including relevant planning software experience.
- Series 7 & 63 investment licenses required.
- 5+ Years of experience in industry required (pertaining to financial planning with high net worth clients).
- Ability to adapt to changing environments and lead change.
- Ability to identify and lead improvements in business processes and best practices.
- Strong use of judgment, analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with others.
- Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office 365, financial planning and CRM software experience required.
