DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Government Analyst I position reports directly to the Chief of Planning and Evaluation. The position will be responsible for supporting staff in providing research and analysis of information and collaborating with staff to produce written materials suitable for general audiences. The following duties and activities are assigned to the Government Analyst I:
- Conducts research on aging issues related to planning activities.
- Assists supervisor and others in the preparation and review of reports and other documents.
- Supports an integrated agency-wide strategic plan.
- Tracks and provides status updates on projects.
- Researches scientific studies and provides recommendations.
- Works with staff in reviewing and submitting items to be updated to the DOEA website.
- Assists in publications that depict demographic trends.
- Assists in gathering, compiling, and analyzing information.
- Attendance is a required function.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Possess excellent oral, writing, and computer literacy skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Possess strong organizational/time management skills.
- Ability to work closely to support bureau proposal and project efforts.
- Ability to contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, social science, or a closely related field.
- Professional or nonprofessional experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
