Mission Statement
At the Ohio Office of Budget and Management, it is our mission to provide policy analysis, fiscal research and financial management services to the Governor and agencies of state government, helping to ensure the proper and responsible use of state resources.
As a cabinet-level agency within the executive branch of state government, OBM develops, coordinates and monitors the individual budgets of state agencies and reviews all financial transactions made with public funds.
If you are looking for an interesting and exciting opportunity in state finance, the Office of Budget and Management is the best place for you. OBM is seeking an experienced senior financial analyst who will have to monitor the Statewide Cost Allocation Plan and the state Petty Cash.
What You'll Do
- Research customer inquiries and assist agencies with problem resolution.
- Coordinate Statewide Cost Allocation Plan issues and assist state and federal agency partners impacted.
- Provide business-level support to agencies on the Statewide Cost Allocation Plan and Petty Cash operation.
- Assist agencies and provide guidance on various federal cost allocation and Petty Cash program topics and regulation (e.g., Uniform Guidance, Ohio Revised Code, Ohio Administrative Knowledge Financials Process Manual, etc.)
- Prepare Collection and Federal Funds Participation workbook.
- Prepare report pages of costs to be submitted for agencies providing centralized services.
- Prepare letters to request review of information from agencies providing centralized services.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 42 months of experience or training in accounting and/or finance, including advanced experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 18 months of experience or training in accounting and/or finance, including advanced experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or completion of a graduate core program in business administration, accounting, finance or related field; 6 months of experience or training in accounting and/or finance, including advanced experience in spreadsheet software.
- Or 12 months of experience as Financial Analyst, 66562.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. NOTE: Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 months of required accounting/fiscal experience referenced in this portion of the minimum qualifications.
