Pay Details
The annual base salary range for this position in California is $75,000 to $80,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Accountant is a full-time position located at Arena Corporate Center (ACC) in Anaheim responsible for tracking, auditing and reporting ticket, merchandise, and sponsorship sales for the Anaheim Ducks Hockey Club. The Accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the organization’s financial operations. This position will prepare monthly journal entries, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and prepare settlements and reports for multiple entities (i.e. Ducks, Sponsorship, and Ducks Foundation). This role requires 5-7 years of experience in accounting/finance. Experience in working with multiple entities is a must.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare various reports, journal entries, and amortization schedules for monthly close
- Maintain ticket reports and records and box office accounting for various entities
- Prepare game day settlements and journal entries for all Ducks games
- Prepare daily merchandise sales and monthly journal entries
- Reconcile inventory account
- Manage fixed assets and related journal entries
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform monthly bank statement reconciliations for various entities
- Complete premium, parking, rent, and facility fee settlements with arena
- Prepare advertising settlements
- Assist with various audits
- Prepare monthly financial reporting to executives and business units
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and budgets
- Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned
Specific Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 5-7 years of experience in Accounting/Finance
- Sports & Entertainment experience preferred
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O software is preferred
- Advanced Archtics/TM Host knowledge preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent time management and organizational skill
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Must be self-motivated, able to learn on own, and work independently towards a deadline
