Mutual of Omaha Legal team is looking for an Associate General Counsel to join the team. This role's key focus will be to leverage expertise around corporate transactions, M&A, reinsurance, treasury and finance, general corporate contracting, and corporate governance. This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel and will provide legal support to all areas of the Company, primarily the Corporate Services. You will protect the interests of the Company and its assets and properties through effective management of risk and compliance with applicable policies, procedures, guidelines, and law.
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU:
- Estimated Salary: $150,000-$210,000, plus annual bonus opportunity and long-term incentive.
- 401(k) plan with a 2% company contribution and 6% company match.
- Unlimited vacation each year.
- Regular associates receive 9 paid holidays in 2023.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Provide advice, counsel, and negotiate general corporate contracts.
- Support M&A activity with respect to corporate strategic initiatives and investment, finance management matters.
- Provide advice and counsel on legal aspects relating to Mutual of Omaha reinsurance program.
- Provide advice and counsel on legal aspects relating to Treasury contracts, including credit facilities, custodial agreements, and credit card processing agreements.
- Provide advice and counsel on legal aspects relating to Mutual of Omaha Companies' general account investment portfolio.
- Contribute to the achievement of business objectives by developing close professional relationships with personnel of all levels, by providing legal counsel, knowledge, skills, and decision making in support of tactical and strategic business initiatives.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

- Ability to manage several different projects at the same time.
- Law Degree with a license to practice in appropriate jurisdiction.

- Able to work remotely with access to a high-speed internet connection and located in the United States or Puerto Rico.
VALUABLE EXPERIENCE:
- 10+ years of relevant work experience with corporate transactions, M&A, general contracting, investments, and finance.
- Attorney with corporate governance experience and working with boards and committees.
- Strong working knowledge of the insurance industry and related legal issues with a strong understanding of the Companies' business operations.
