We are looking for a Director of Facilities Management to play a key role in furthering our mission in our Maintenance area.
Summary/Objective:
Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, oversee facilities and infrastructure management, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the Agency’s facilities, directing routine and emergency maintenance, managing all vendor-provided facility services such as custodial, HVAC, electrical, and vending. Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and development in alignment with Agency goals and objectives. Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures, manage direct reports, and conduct site inspections. Provide overall facility coordination for Transportation, Warehouses, Plant, Administrative offices, Stores, ADC’s, and all other Agency facilities and equipment. Requires strong leadership, project management, and technical expertise in facility management practices.
Skills and Knowledge:
Must have knowledge and demonstrated skill in building systems operations, maintenance, repair, safety, custodial, construction methods, and facility management. Ability to direct facility functions, participate in implementing policies and safety procedures, engage with vendors and contractors, minimize hazards, participate in preparing facility budgets and monitoring expenditures, designing, planning, and coordinating remodeling and refurbishment initiatives, testing equipment, assisting with space needs, ensuring compliance with zoning laws, and safety rules and regulations as required by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Possess good communication skills, excellent organizational skills, broad knowledge of business functions, and project management experience. Must understand the technical aspects of the property. Must have skill or knowledge in the use of tools used in the repair and maintenance of facilities. Must have skill or knowledge in the repair of small apparatus, minor repair, and maintenance of machinery used at Goodwill locations, or the ability to learn. Must have a valid Kansas driver’s license and be insurable to operate company vehicles.
Education/Experience:
- GED or High School Diploma required.
- Vocational training or college degree required.
- Five years of direct experience may be substituted for a college degree.
Essential Functions:
- Coordination and management of routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance of all facilities and designated equipment.
- Ensure all facilities are maintained in a safe, secure, clean, and efficient manner.
- Manage and oversee outside vendors and contractors for facility support.
- Manage internal and external custodial services to ensure facilities are kept clean.
- Plan, schedule, and participate in work duties for Maintenance Technicians.
- Provide leadership and direction to the facilities management team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the facilities department.
- Maintain or monitor lawn care and snow removal.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, laws, and environmental standards.
- Participate in and lead capital improvement projects, renovations, and expansions of facilities from inception to completion.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Develop and maintain an inventory of facility assets, including buildings, equipment, and systems.
- Implement asset management strategies to optimize the lifecycle of assets and minimize operational risks.
- Identify opportunities for energy conservation initiatives and sustainable practices to reduce utility costs and minimize environmental impact.
- Participate in waste disposal strategies.
Wage range: $65,000 - $75,000 annually:
