Summary: This position is housed within the Asset Management department, which monitors long-term compliance for IHDA-assisted developments.
Project Operations Compliance: Ensures the operational compliance of properties assisted by IHDA loans, grants, or tax credits through management, occupancy, and tenant file reviews.
Essential Functions:
- Implements proactive strategies to resolve properties’ operational compliance issues.
- Conducts initial and ongoing monitoring reviews of assigned portfolio based on prescribed timeframes.
- Prepares and maintains all operational compliance documentation.
- Serves as primary point of contact between owners/agents and Asset Management department.
- Proactively communicates with the property owner, manager, agent regarding operational issues.
- Participates in regular loan monitoring and delinquency meetings.
- Intakes, responds to, and resolves tenant and owner/agent inquiries or complaints.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required, experience may substitute.
- Experience: At least 5 years’ experience in asset management/operational compliance for affordable multifamily rental housing developments.
- Thorough knowledge of funding sources/programs desired: LIHTC, HOME, Section 8, etc.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Training: Certifications required within one year.
- Valid Driver’s License: Required.
- Access to Personal Vehicle: Required.
- Frequency of Travel: Frequent – 50-75% annually.
