Role Summary:
This role is responsible for managing the firm's Enterprise Infrastructure and providing enablement. The Senior Performance Analyst is responsible for calculating, analyzing, and reporting performance returns and risk statistics for firm portfolios, strategy composites, and benchmarks. The individual serves as an analytical resource for the marketing and portfolio management departments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Calculate, analyze, and report portfolio, security, and benchmark performance.
- Prepare and organize risk and return data for client reports and prospective client presentations.
- Manage performance and portfolio data to enable automated production of client reports.
- Prepare and explain attribution analysis.
- Ensure firm adheres to Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS); work with external verifier to complete annual exam as required.
- Respond to ad hoc requests from Portfolio Managers and the Marketing department.
- Conduct checks of other team members' work to ensure it is error-free.
- Lead project work as directed, working with other teams at the firm as required.
- Train junior members of the Analytics team in processes and procedures.
- Proactively identify issues, problems, or opportunities for process improvements; propose and implement solutions.
- Ensure strong operational controls are implemented.
Requirements:
- 4+ years experience as analyst – other performance mathematics/risk measurement acceptable.
- Deep understanding of Global Investment Performance Standards.
- Strong understanding of performance and risk measurement and analysis.
- Strong experience in SQL, Excel or similar tools.
Nice to Have's:
- Accounting and/or Finance background and experience.
- Professional exposure to investment accounting, administration, and reporting.
- Working knowledge of macros and VBA.
- Interest in pursuing the CFA or CIPM programs and/or interest in pursuing an MBA.
- Experience with the following applications: Eagle, Advent AXYS, FactSet, CAPS or another composite maintenance software.
