About The Role
Join a dynamic legal team working on a variety of legal issues across the entire company. Serve as a key legal advisor to Twitch’s business teams on all phases of the product development life cycle. Handle topics such as trust & safety, content policy, privacy, brand safety, and regulator engagement that arise out of the operation and growth of a global UGC service. Balance legal expertise and business considerations to assist product, operations, engineering, business development, and other teams to develop thoughtful strategies towards product development while mitigating legal risk.
You can work in San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Seattle, WA; and New York, NY, with hybrid work options available.
You Will:
- Advise on the application of a range of laws, compliance issues, and industry standards, with a focus on safety, privacy, public policy, and regulatory concerns.
- Review products, processes, features, and initiatives to provide advice consistent with Twitch’s legal obligations globally.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including Product, Engineering, Privacy, Public Policy, Marketing, Comms, and Trust & Safety.
You Have:
- Juris Doctor Degree
- California Bar admission in good standing (or California Registered In-House Counsel)
- 5+ years of relevant legal experience working on technology-related issues, with 1+ year of in-house experience preferred
- Experience advising clients in the video, mobile, gaming, e-commerce, online marketplaces, user generated content, or internet products/services sectors
- Experience analyzing and advising clients on US and international laws regarding content policies, youth safety, privacy and data protection, and/or trust & safety
- Collegial attitude, desire to work on a highly collaborative team, and sense of humor
