Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller, preferably from the automotive manufacturing/distribution industry. The successful incumbent will be the lead Finance Controller, reporting into the UK based Chief Financial Officer. Duties will include general ledger accounting, including AP & AR (in a shared service environment), ensuring adherence to revenue recognition rules with overall responsibility for the integrity of the P&L, Budget and Balance Sheet for the US entity. The role will work closely with the commercial finance business partners who are responsible for working with Sales, Marketing, Aftersales (Parts) and Network Development areas of the business as Lotus continues its journey to expand its market presence and transition to an EV performance car brand.
Based in Austin, Texas within a multi-functional team environment. Some travel (<10%) but with significant flexibility. Role can offer some Hybrid flexibility but will not lend itself to entirely remote functionality (subject to meeting performance objectives).
What you'll do:
- Act as primary lead for accounting and financial control for entity
- Work with Head of Internal Controls (UK) to implement and maintain robust SOX compliant control framework
- Work with Head of Account (UK) to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of month-end close and its associated deliverables
- Production, review and distribution of US Financial and Management reporting
- Support implementation of SAP and other associated systems as part of ongoing transformation.
- Ensure US tax reporting and payment obligations are met
Key Stakeholders:
Build strong working relationships and become trusted business partner with US and Global Sales, Aftersales, Network Development and Lotus Global Accounting Teams.
What you'll bring:
- Great communication skills and a thorough understanding of general accounting principles
- Strong US GAAP reporting knowledge
- Good level of knowledge in both state and federal taxation
- Strong presentation skills with ability to convey financial metrics to non-financial managers
- Personable and able to build strong relationships across business units
- Advanced excel skills essential with experience in SAP accounting software (ideal).
- Ability to team with other financial professionals remotely to achieve results
Preferred / Helpful KSAs:
- Working knowledge of SAP, company in progress of migrating ERP system
- Working knowledge of OneStream which is used for G/L reporting
- Comfortable working within a shared service team environment
- Service-oriented personality with strong desire to team with and support co-workers
- SOX certified or experience of working in a SOX environment

- Reliable, flexible, diplomatic but firm where required.
- Inquisitive mindset with a want to be involved in all activities and awareness to work cooperatively
Qualifications:
- Accounting or Finance degree
- CPA helpful, not required, MBA more desired qualification with concentration in accounting
- 3-5 years of experience, preferably in automotive distribution with a manufacturer
- Strong people skills, this is a beyond the numbers role. Must be comfortable helping non-financial team members to support their projects
- Sense of purpose mindset, with the discipline to be patient when required and pushy when necessary
