Purpose
Ensure all Wildflower Center accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions are processed accurately and timely according to UTs accounting policies and procedures. Process accounting vouchers, purchase orders, invoices, deposits, PIFs, vendor setup, and other accounting processes as assigned.
Responsibilities
Process accounting vouchers, purchase orders, invoices, deposits, PIFs, vendor setup, and other accounting processes as assigned. Collect and analyze financial accounting data. Initiate and complete reconciliation processes for rental and store deposits. Assist with managing year-end closeout and roll-forward activities. Reconcile and process ProCards, gas cards, and university-issued credit cards.
Create and maintain Excel tracker for grant monitoring and work with staff PIs to monitor their grant accounts. Serve as department contact for UT Accounting system. Maintain routing system for electronic documents. Prepare correcting and transfer documents. Ad-hoc analysis as assigned. Provide accounting and procurement support and services to various teams and leadership as requested. Process and oversee department administrative requests related to procurement. Other duties as assigned.
Required QualificationsHigh school diploma; some college (accounting and bookkeeping). Four (4) years of Governmental or commercial accounting. Work experience at UT Austin and knowledge of the university's business policies, procedures, and account structure. Skilled in the use of a 10-key calculator. Proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and processing financial data. Demonstrated strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail, resourcefulness, and ability to work independently and on multiple projects within a team, and under pressure of strict deadlines. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Professional demeanor. Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated ability to take initiative. Experience working with complex Excel spreadsheets and large amounts of data. Commitment to providing excellent customer service. Previous accounting and reconciliation experience. Experience with DEFINE, FRMS, UT Market, and POINT Plus.
