Position Summary:
The Senior Banker plays a pivotal role within our financial institution, responsible for excelling in sales production and overseeing branch operations in the absence of the Branch Relationship Manager. This role requires a dynamic and experienced professional with a strong sales acumen, leadership abilities, and comprehensive knowledge of consumer and second mortgage lending. Through effective relationship management of your book of business, you will assist Telhio in maintaining exceptional member service standards.
What you will do:
- Achieve and exceed sales targets, demonstrating the ability to consistently generate revenue through deposit and loan products.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of high-value clients.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling various financial products and services.
- Assume the role of Manager on Duty in the absence of the Branch Relationship Manager.
- Provide leadership and guidance to branch staff, ensuring a positive work environment.
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations, including customer service, staff scheduling, and problem resolution.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of second mortgages and other lending products.
- Assist clients in understanding the benefits and risks associated with second mortgages.
- Collaborate with underwriting and compliance teams to facilitate seamless second mortgage processing.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing exceptional service and financial guidance.
- Analyze clients' financial needs and offer personalized solutions.
- Ensure client confidentiality and data security.
- Stay current with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure that all banking activities, including second mortgage transactions, comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and branch operations.
- Prepare and submit reports as required by the branch and regional management.
- Process all member transactions accurately and efficiently (i.e. deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and more).
- Engage in community events in partnership with the Branch Relationship Manager and Business Development.
- Open deposit and lending accounts and complete maintenance for existing and new members.
- Assist members in understanding the benefits and risks associated with second mortgages.
- Other job duties and functions as assigned by leadership.
What you will need:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
- 1-3 years in banking experience.
- 1-3 years in a leadership role.
- 1-3 years in Cash Handling experience.
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of financial products and banking regulations.
- Demonstrates strong relationship building and supervisory skills.
- Demonstrates strong member advisory skills.
- Demonstrates experience with/broad understanding of personal and commercial financial solutions.
