SUMMARY: First Horizon Audit and Assurance Services (AAS) provides independent and objective audit, advisory, and strategic assurance services to various business units or functions in support of the company's enterprise-wide audit program. The objective of these services is to provide high quality assurance, advice, and insight to help improve and ensure the company's risk management, governance, and internal control processes are adequately designed, operating effectively, and consistent with the expectations and/or requirements of the board of directors, management, and regulatory authorities.
The Professional Practices Sr. Analyst is part of the Professional Practices Group within the Quality and Efficiency Services function of Audit and Assurance Services. The Professional Practices Group provides reporting on the AAS function to ensure conformance with department standards, plans, budgets and schedules and report on the effectiveness and efficiency of operations. The position will help provide assurance the AAS activity is in conformance all applicable organizational and professional standards. The position requires the ability to maintain effective working relations with management and audit staff members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Maintains methodology, process, workflow, and procedure documentation. Works with Professional Practices Manager to determine updates and implementation.
- Is a liaison with external stakeholders, including but not limited to, third party vendors, regulators, other departments within First Horizon.
- Monitors and reports on the internal audit activity to review for compliance with industry, regulatory, department, corporate standards/guidance, Code of Ethics, and IIA Standards.
- In conjunction with others on the PPG team, serves as a knowledge resource for systems, processes, workflow, and procedures for the Internal Audit group.
- Prepares periodic reports regarding the effectiveness of the audit and assurance services department on behalf of the Professional Practices Manager.
- Develops and maintains productive staff relationships through individual contacts and group meetings/trainings.
- Works with the database administrator on BI Dashboard reporting and maintains the AAS sharepoint sites.
- Complete other special assignments and projects for the department as instructed by the Professional Practices Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required in this position:
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year accredited college).
- 2+ years of related auditing experience.
- Good fundamental understanding of internal audit practices.
- Understanding of Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Standards.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, analytical, problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- High level of tact and ability to communicate complex and potentially sensitive issues to various levels of management.
- Strong skills in conflict resolution, auditor’s judgment, risk-based auditing, and sound decision making.
COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS - Microsoft Office suite
- TeamMate + (Preferred)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS (Ex: CPA, Series 6 or 7 license, etc) - Professional certification (CIA or CPA preferred; or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire.
