Vaco Memphis is assisting our longstanding client in their Senior Tax Accountant search! Further details include:Responsibilities:The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for tax compliance, which includes, but is not limited to, state and local income tax returns for the company and its subsidiaries, assisting in the company's quarterly and annual tax provisions including SEC 10-K footnote, tax return review, tax accounting reporting and analysis, tax research, and identifying tax incentives.
- Prepares and files all state and local income tax returns for the company and its subsidiaries
- Prepares and files all state and local estimated tax and extension payments
- Assists in company's quarterly and annual tax provisions, including SEC 10-K footnote
- Assists in preparation of company's Consolidated Federal Income Tax return
- Ensures deadlines are met for tax returns, payments and financial reporting
- Prepares reconciliations of the Tax returns/balances to the general ledger
- Prepares accounting adjustments as necessary
- Performs tax research - identifies areas of concern and communicates results in a clear and concise manner, and documents appropriately
- Assists with tax audits
- Addresses questions from the various tax jurisdictions as necessary
- Identify Tax Incentives
Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree required (accounting focus preferred)
- 2-3 years tax accounting experience required
- Good working knowledge of Financial Accounting principles
- Proven written and verbal communication skills
- Proven advanced-level Excel skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines under strict time constraints
- Experience using Alteryx is a plus
