The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records, managing financial reporting, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes.
Essential Functions:
- Oversees and manages daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.
- Prepares and reviews financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Manages cash flow, tracks project expenses, and ensures timely invoicing and collections.
- Monitors and reports on the financial performance of construction projects, including budget vs. actual analysis.
- Prepares and maintains project-specific financial reports, including job cost reports and profit/loss statements.
- Ensures proper allocation of costs to project codes and monitor project budgets for discrepancies.
- Ensures compliance with accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations specific to the construction industry.
- Prepares and assists with internal and external audits, including providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Supervises and mentors accounting staff, including training, performance evaluations, and career development.
- Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting function.
- Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis and financial projections.
- Provides financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning and project decision-making.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational conferences; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies, etc.
- Satisfactory completion of appropriate corporate training as related to the position and/or department.
- Contributes to overall achievement by accomplishing related tasks and demonstrating characteristics that exemplify team building and support.

Requirement & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project managers and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry regulations, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards specific to the construction industry preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
