As part of its separation from Carrier, the Commercial and Residential Fire business is building its Accounting & Controllership department. This presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated and strategic thinker to assume a critical role within the organization. This individual will have the opportunity to delve into all manners of Finance/Accounting impacting a multi-national company and creating true value for the company.
This role represents the opportunity to help build and shape the future of our Accounting & Controllership department. This person will work with all members of the department and help solve issues to create true value for the company.
About This Role
We are seeking a high potential, results-oriented Senior Accountant to perform financial and cost accounting activities. This position will oversee accounting activities for the Commercial Fire Americas Segment, including but not limited to: general accounting processes such as inter-company, freight accruals, consolidation of monthly reporting deliverables and review of balance sheet.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for developing and documenting accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financials.
- Candidate must possess strong analytical skills and ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis.
- Manages and analyzes activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control financial resources and compliance with regulations, laws, and reporting activities.
- Prepares, examines, and conforms to procedures for general ledger preparation and project and/or government accounting activities.
- Performs monthly and quarterly close and consolidation processes to ensure timely completion and accuracy.
- Develops and documents accounting policies, procedures, control processes, and financials.
- Analyzes business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations in order to accurately represent financial standing.
- Supports internal and external audits for process compliance and timely completion.
- Leads small scale projects.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business.
- 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA, CPA/CMA.
- Master’s Degree.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Hyperion Financial Management system knowledge a plus.
