Facilities & Operations is seeking an energetic and transformative leader to head our seasoned Budget & Reporting team who support annual operating budgets of approximately $200M. This pivotal role requires not only a deep proficiency in spreadsheet analysis but also the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for all levels of our organization. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong communication skills and a hands-on approach to financial leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of monthly financial results and budget variances, focusing on identifying trends, generating insights, and providing detailed explanations.
- Financial Reporting & Presentation: Collaborate closely with the Associate Director to prepare and present comprehensive monthly financial assessments to F&O partners, ensuring clarity and strategic foresight.
- Budget Support & Consultation: Offer expert guidance to financial partners across F&O on a wide spectrum of budget-related matters, including annual and monthly budgeting for Auxiliary and General Funds, capital planning, rate development, and cost containment strategies. Serve as a trusted advisor, providing consultation and resolution for complex budget issues.
- Year-End Financial Certification: Spearhead the annual year-end certification financial processes and conduct in-depth analyses, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all financial operations within F&O.
- Strategic Financial Leadership: Collaborate with financial leadership across F&O to analyze potential strategies, make informed decisions on significant matters without immediate direction, and contribute to ongoing financial planning efforts.
- Special Projects & Additional Duties: Assist with various special projects and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Director, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to organizational goals.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Strong financial management skills in budgeting and financial reporting.
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis tools and software, particularly Business Objects. Demonstrated skill in creating data queries and reports.
- In-depth knowledge of budgeting and variance analysis. Extensive knowledge and experience using spreadsheets, advanced spreadsheet functions, and complex databases.
- Highly proactive, a high degree of problem-solving skills, a high sense of ownership and accountability for workload, and flexibility during times of change.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to recognize and investigate data anomalies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize and present complex financial information clearly and concisely to leadership.
