Our Wiss, Janney, Elstner Associates, Inc. (WJE) office in Northbrook, IL is looking for an Accounting Associate to join our Billing team. The Accounting Associate will be responsible for entering project-related information into our project management tool and supporting the transition to electronic billing. They will work alongside the accounting team and project managers to ensure the accurate recording of project and client data, with a focus on collaboration and problem-solving.
Responsibilities:
- Input project and client information in project management software (Deltek Vision)
- Ensure accurate billing by cross-referencing project data, contracts, and client agreements
- Maintain records of billing activities and provide regular reports as requested
- Set up and maintain client Electronic Billing accounts in Electronic Billing Portal and third-party vendor sites; submit timekeepers and rates for approval; keep all timekeepers and rates up to date on the sites; enter budgets
- Resolve any discrepancies in billing, interacting with internal teams and clients to address issues promptly
- Provide payment status to Customer Service Representatives for accounts receivable reporting, as needed
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field plus 2-3 years of experience in billing or related roles
- Experience with Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry and/or prior use of Deltek Vision software highly desired
- Demonstrated experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence
- Knowledge of e-billing platforms such as E-Billing Hub Tymetrix, Serengeti, Coupa, Ariba, etc., and processes with multiple workflows is desirable
- Ability to handle multiple assignments sometimes under time pressure with customer service orientation
- Ability to manage sensitive information confidentially

Individuals must have the dexterity to operate office equipment such as computer, printer, fax, copier, telephone, and voice mail system. Position mainly involves working at a desk and requires the ability to remain for extended periods at a workstation.
Annual starting base salary (gross): $42,500 - $69,000. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on several factors including consideration for a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base salary is one component of our total compensation package for employees.
