JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- General accounting for US and Canada to include month-end close, entry preparation, reconciliations, support audit request, and GAAP reporting, as required.
- Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy; review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.
- Analyze accounts, understand where adjustments are needed and prepare journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations following success criteria.
- Design and complete summaries, supplementals and reports as needed.
- Execute specific analysis and transactions (i.e., cash, leases and fixed assets).
- Responsible for daily management of general ledger activities.
- Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls and participate in SOX testing.
- Support management through data collection, analysis and special projects.
- Assist with financial, tax and other audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years related experience in an accounting role; working in multinational company environment preferred
- Owns results - takes failures as learning opportunities to improve and create standard work
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; expert in Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUP, sum-if & higher-level functions, etc.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and SOX
- Desired software expertise: SAP, Blackline
- CPA a plus
- Must be self-motivating and self-sufficient with a positive outlook and focused on quality work; plan day in an organized manner and pays attention to details and accuracy
- Capacity to plan, organize, & complete projects on time.
- Ability to juggle multiple responsibilities and deadlines
- Action oriented individual who is highly proactive at solving problems and obtaining results.
- Able to work independently after initial instructions and looks for process improvements.
