Description:
RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Provides genetic counseling, test coordination, and follow-up for patients in the Piedmont Cancer Genetics Program. Supports referring providers and provides cancer genetics education and outreach.
Qualifications:
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Master's Degree in Genetic Counseling from an ABGC or ABMG accredited training program or an equivalent program approved by the ABGC or the ABMG required.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
None.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Board Certification (or Board Eligible) in Genetic Counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counseling.
Active Genetic Counselor License (Full or Temporary) for the State of Georgia required.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Work experience in oncology/cancer genetic counseling preferred.
Strong communication skills.
Skilled in use of MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and associated software programs.
Experience with Epic and Progeny software preferred.
