The Atlanta Operation (Alpharetta, GA office) has an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Engineer. Depending on the level of the candidate's skill and experience, this position may be eligible for all levels of field engineering (CE 1 to SES). Varying levels of experience and qualifications will be considered.
This is a position for an Atlanta-based Consultant Engineer serving clients in the Southeastern US (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee). The position also involves occasional Atlanta Office engineering responsibilities such as Plan Review or Report Review.

As a Resident Consultant Engineer, you will develop strong working relationships with our clients and help them identify, quantify, and reduce risks to their business. You will advise on property protection and develop solutions supported by our extensive research base and unique scientific expertise. In addition, you will act to support project activity for our client base as they develop their business opportunities and facilities.
A Consultant Engineer at FM Global is expected to manage field, office, and project work for clients within a wide range of industries (including manufacturing, warehousing, and retailing). Small to medium sized locations will be expected to be handled with minimal supervision. Larger locations and more challenging occupancies will be assigned based upon skill level. These products and services are expected to be delivered in a timely and efficient manner. The individual will also be expected to achieve risk improvement by ensuring client understanding, consulting to reach client agreements, and executing follow-ups until completion.
Travel is expected at a rate commensurate with an Atlanta-based engineer traveling to the different states in our area but also doing local work and office work (approx. 40-60 nights away each year).
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

- Sense of ownership and responsibility.

- Strong organizational, communication, listening and interpersonal skills are a must.
- Effective negotiation and “sales” skills.
- Solid technical aptitude including a diverse knowledge of engineering principles.

- Effective in working with other team members to support clients and achieve objectives.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds or 11.34 kilograms.
- Able to climb ladders.
