Saint John Hospital Rehabilitation Department is looking for a dynamic Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team!
In addition to acute care services, Saint John Hospital specializes in 24/7 emergency care, senior behavioral health, skilled nursing, ambulatory care, including outpatient surgical services, imaging services including 3D mammography, Diagnostic Imaging and Ultrasound, Rehabilitation Services including Physical, Occupational and Speech/Language Therapy and Audiology. Saint John is certified as an Advanced Disease-Specific Care for Acute Stroke Ready Hospital from The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association. Responsibilities
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) duties include, but are not limited to:
- Provide coverage for inpatients in the acute care setting.
- Responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician.
- Assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department.
- Weekend shift is an on-call shift on Saturday 8:00a - 9:00a with call-back pay if called in.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelor's in speech therapy, required.
- Licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology.
- MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred.
- One year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting, preferred.
- One year of experience in acute care, preferred.
- Current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current.
