Responsibilities:
We are seeking a Cardiac Care Nurse (Days), internally referred to as our Cardiac Care Unit (CCU) Registered Nurse (RN) at Saint John Hospital, a member of Prime Healthcare. The Cardiac Nurse plays a critical role in attending to patients with heart conditions, cardiac issues, and associated illnesses, providing tailored care to enhance recovery and improve quality of life.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
- Monitor patient's cardiac status, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect any changes or abnormalities.
- Administer medications as prescribed by physicians, including intravenous drugs and cardiac medications.
- Perform assessments of patient's cardiac status, including physical assessments and evaluating symptoms.
- Provide education to patients and their families about cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices.
- React promptly to cardiac emergencies, including arrhythmias and cardiac arrests.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING:
Current and valid state RN License
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current
Completion of Critical Care Course preferred
Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire
Current ACLS certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current
Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred
Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
