Position: Senior Analyst
Location: 6565 Headquarters Drive, Plano, TX 75024
Duration: 12 Months with possibility of extension
Work Type: Hybrid (3 to 5 times a month, normally on Wednesday)
Working hours: Standard 8/9 5/6 CDT
Overtime: 10%
Description:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field (Mandatory)
Experience Level: 5-10 years
Experience with Big 4
CPA certification
Insurance industry background
Requirements:
This position is a key member of the accounting team that ensures accurate preparation of financial information and reports, timely completion of period close process, and review of account reconciliations. This position also assists with internal or external audit requirements and various regulatory requirements and supports business partners by providing accurate accounting information to enable sound decisions and drive management actions.
What you’ll be doing:
- Perform the month-end close process.
- Review and reconcile month-end data reports for respective journal entries.
- Evaluate accuracy and reasonableness of financial information provided by business partners.
- Perform month-end closing activities, including the preparation and recording of all associated journal entries.
- Ensure balances reflected in the financial statements are accurate.
- Prepare, analyze and review monthly reports and stand-alone and consolidated fluctuation analyses.
- Lead departmental month-end close meetings.
- Assist in the preparation of information for Board of Directors, executive presentations, and various special projects as requested by management.
- Complete quarterly, calendar year and fiscal year reporting and financial statements.
- Prepare quarterly and/or annual financial statements.
- Prepare and review supporting schedules and documentation as required for the financial audits for both companies by external audit.
- Provide information required for periodic regulatory audits and tax reporting.
- Independently prepare and respond to various ad-hoc requests from internal departments, timely and accurately.
- Independently lead and/or support management-directed special projects.
- Continuously look for opportunities to strengthen and/or streamline existing accounting policies and procedures. Investigate and implement advanced usage of available technology. Recommend process improvements and/or changes in accounting treatment as appropriate.
Qualifications/What you bring (Must Haves):
- Four-Year College Degree (BA or BS).
- 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
- Advanced reporting experience - Very important.
- Exceptional day-to-day accounting experience - Very important.
- Strong accounting understanding and expertise.
- Strong written documentation and written and oral communication.
- Strong analytical skills, initiative; ability to multi-task.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Bonus if you have (Preferred):
- Public accounting experience with national firm.
- Advanced Degree in Accounting.
- Experience Working With ERP Application. SAP Preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant License.
