The Attorney Development Senior Specialist (Sr Specialist) is an exempt position responsible for managing certain specialized aspects of firm-wide attorney training, including but not limited to: managing milestone development programs, section-specific and firmwide training initiatives and managing the non-partner lawyer biannual evaluation process. This position reports to the Director of Associate Development and works closely with other attorneys engaged in training efforts, various committees of the firm, and the heads of the other administrative departments.
Essential Duties
- Design and delivery of annual milestone development programs in collaboration with other AD team members.
- Support section/practice group-specific training series – development and administration.
- Implement firmwide training initiatives (including programs related to Wellness and DEI) as required.
- Support the talent management function, including serving as subject matter expert on administration of biannual non-partner review process.
- Assist with the administration of Attorney Development team initiatives and activities.
- Liaise with lawyers and staff at all levels and perform other related duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationship
The Sr Specialist reports directly to the Director of Associate Development.
Qualifications
Education and Knowledge:
- Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and at least two years’ experience with similar responsibilities in a large law firm or professional services organization.
- JD or other advanced degrees are a plus. Expertise with CLE requirements preferred.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications is required. Experience with Micron, Workday, or Qualtrics platforms preferred.
Skills:
- Candidate must be highly organized and possess excellent attention to detail skills.
- Candidate should be comfortable communicating effectively with all levels of individuals in the Firm.
- This individual has a vital role in promoting and coordinating the attorney training programs and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions
Hybrid office environment. Occasional overtime required. Some travel required.
