Emergence Health Holdings is seeking a Revenue Cycle Manager to oversee the direction and the day-to-day functions of the billing team for its two urgent care brands, ClearChoiceMD and CareWell, which operate 32 urgent care locations and offer telemedicine services throughout New England. This is a hybrid-remote position, 2-3 days/week in office
The Revenue Cycle Manager maximizes cash flow, provides analysis, creates written processes/SOPs, and trains others in implementing a cross functional revenue cycle team. This position will align initiatives with the revenue cycle strategic objectives and is responsible for the direction of these efforts to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of charge capture, coding, claims submission, follow-up, denial, and underpayment management. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of revenue cycle, accounts receivable, and cash collections.
Primary Revenue Cycle Manager Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Develop strategies across all functional departments to exceed cash collections, reduce days in AR, and reduce denial and adjustment rates.
- Conduct staff annual performance reviews in collaboration with the Director of RCM; Monitor and evaluate team effectiveness and individual productivity measured against established performance standards.
- Manage the administration of all AR financial transactions with the goal of minimizing bad debt, improving cash flow, guiding the revenue cycle team, implementing company procedures, generating accurate reports, analyzing trends, and making recommendations to senior management.
- Maintain up-to-date copies of payer fee schedules in electronic files and communicate changes to team in a timely manner. Ensure all rate changes are implemented in a timely manner and audited on a quarterly basis.
- Oversee the analysis and recording of revenue adjustments, write-offs, and denial activity; provide reporting on trends to management along with suggestions to mitigate future write-offs and denied claims.
- Ensure the EMRs are optimized to ensure contracted amounts are collected consistently and accurately.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or equivalent and minimum of 4 years of revenue cycle experience; 8 years of revenue cycle experience in lieu of education.
- Medical Billing Experience: 4 years (preferred)
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) Certification (preferred)
- Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 coding.
- Experience with Experity and Waystar.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel skills and pivot tables.
- Ability to hire, train, and manage the revenue cycle billing team.
