The Senior Accountant will be responsible for a variety of accounting and finance reporting tasks, supporting senior leadership and the accounting team. This role involves assisting with the monthly accounting close process, control activities, financial reporting, post-close tasks, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, able to multi-task, and a self-starter who can adapt to various tasks as needed. This position requires strong teamwork and collaboration skills to effectively work with different departments and support the overall financial goals of the organization. Attention to detail is essential.
Core Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and preparation of financial statements and disclosures in accordance with U.S. GAAP to be filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, including preparation of workpapers to support the external financial reporting binder.
- Remain current on FASB and SEC developments and assist with technical accounting research including analysis, preparation, and implementation of new accounting standards.
- Participate in maintenance of documentation and execution of financial reporting internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and provide necessary documentation.
- Analyze complex accounting areas and identify trends, accruals, and necessary actions.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account analyses and reconciliations.
- Assist external auditors with quarterly reviews and year-end audits.
- Other duties as assigned to support the accounting and finance functions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience.
- Experience in transportation and logistics services is advantageous, but not necessary.
- Strong mathematical skills and the ability to apply accounting knowledge to financial modeling.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to handle complex issues.
- Knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to document processes and procedures.
- Strong work ethic, initiative, and ability to work independently.
Skills:

- Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.
- Proficiency in general computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, AS400, and Oracle Cloud.
